Before I say anything here, I want to say that I dislike Sisi for my own personal reasons, and I certainly don't endorse any of their actions. I think they've done disgusting things, and there should be a discussion about that. That said, this is going to be a mainly Kagebros-centric reblog, because I feel like a major problem is being overlooked, so I wanted to mention it.

I want to also say, I don't support nor encourage any harassment towards Kagebros, or frankly, Sisi, either. Bullying someone off the internet isn't the way to go about these things.

To put it simply: Tracing and selling artwork is stealing. Not only is Kagebros using artwork from non-consenting artists (such as Alex Milne, a man who is actively fighting for his life against medical struggles while people go and steal his art)—but they are directly profiting off of people who have been deceived into thinking that what they are buying are 100% original works.

In Kagebros's apology, there isn't any acknowledgement of the fact that they have traced over official renders, as well as official art, both from TF:One and from IDW. Check Sol's post if you want to see proof of that. Take very close look at the art, especially on the IDW side of tracing; the poses are nearly the exact same, as are the designs (down to each and every line and curve). Only very minor things are changed.

There is, however, acknowledgement that they traced over toys. That itself is something that's morally dubious at best. If something is traced from a toy, that's something that buyers are going to want to know.

Either way, this isn't a true apology. You can't apologize for something you haven't even acknowledged. Even if they do apologize and take full accountability by admitting to their actions, people have every right to still be angry. I'm angry, myself. I've purchased Kage's art before. So have many other people in the fandom. That's a lot of money taken from a lot of people who didn't know they were financially supporting someone who regularly traces.

To the people who are harassing Kage: You are directly impacting the spread of this information, and making it harder for true action to be taken. The more that you do, the better they look. If you are going out and harassing them, you are worse than them.

If you want something to be done, contact TFCon staff, Etsy, and wherever else the traced artwork is being sold, and ask for them to be removed. Likewise, please please please support the artists who have been exploited by this person for money. All of the people involved with each and every piece that Kage stole have, even as individuals, put hours into what they've made. They don't deserve to have their artwork stolen, let alone sold at a convention to people who don't know any better.

And last of all: spread the original callout post. It's important that people see and are aware of what has been done, so they can avoid purchasing from Kage, both online, and at any conventions they may be attending. Awareness is the most important part here. People should at least know what they're buying before they make the choice to buy it.

The callout campaign against Kagebros has gone WAY too far. The lengths these people have gone to violate someone’s boundaries and privacy in order to “warn” people is incredibly excessive and is dealing horrible damage to their mental health and wellbeing. It needs to fucking stop.

The situation has spiraled completely out of control, spurred on by people who would rather side with a proud AI artist than have a civilized, adult discussion about tracing. Said AI artist has a history of attempting to ruin Kagebros’ credibility, spreading disinformation and rumors about them and their nonprofit charity zines, now going as far as to allegedly incite people to nonconsensually take photos of them at their booth at TFcon Baltimore, and block-evading their socials in order to find more posts to pick apart.

As they have stated already, Kagebros never had ANY intention to scam people, which understandably doesn’t change how those affected may feel. That being said, they could have very easily traced over things without altering them in any way at all, like many others within the convention vending sphere have blatantly done without a callout from these same people who care so much about “calling out tracing”. There tends to be a gray area in the realm of tracing techniques within the art industry (especially professionally), and there is plenty of merit for their actions to be criticized. As they’ve stated, they were under the impression that Official artwork/figures were okay to trace over and alter, which they now know to avoid doing so in the future. Even if the details and credibility of the piece can be scrutinized, they still made a conscious effort to alter the pieces in question to be more original.

Although said effort may not be enough for most, they now KNOW that. End of story. They can't immediately change the pieces they had available for sale, and they should be showing change through their future pieces and actions, which is something that’s up for judgment by anyone. And yet the people starting this have needlessly dragged it on, inciting others to keep spreading the accusations to further audiences, leading to more harassment.

Seafoamsol had admittedly unblocked Kagebros and “offered” to have a talk with them about the situation, but their own intentions are extremely questionable, as a conversation should have been the first priority, rather than a callout post. They assumed Kagebros’ intentions without giving them a single chance to address it themselves before the callout, and are now going forward with the narrative of them being a scammer.

Again, if they truly were concerned, they could have unblocked them and had a conversation before the callout was made, instead of assuming their intentions were to deceive people.

The situation is very nuanced, meaning there's a lot of points to be acknowledged on both sides in order to come to a conclusion, which could have happened peacefully if adults just had a civil discussion with each other. There is a justifiable talk to be had here, and reasonable changes to be made, but this can’t be accomplished productively if people continue to jump to conclusions and assume intentions. This has done nothing–and WILL do nothing–but hurt people, if this behavior doesn’t stop. mistakes will be made, lessons will be learned. Please look at this situation in its entirety before coming to your own conclusions based on assumptions made by people with evidently questionable motives and a history of causing problems for others and driving them out of the community.

My vision of Pamenilia's role in this AU, right?... Hmm, quite a difficult question, since initially, as I wrote in that very post, anyone could substitute either her, or Orchids, or even ur OC in the place of a policewoman, but I really liked your vision of this AU, so I don't against her current role as a journalist and Orchid friend :)

What about the relationship between her and the twins... God, you know, I really love all sorts of dark themes, as well as drama, so I don't even know if I should describe it in detail or not lol

In short, between her and Veneer in this AU slipped... A certain spark (which cannot be categorically called love or hate). Pam, in my pure understanding, is a person who hates cheating more than anything else. Perhaps she was so influenced by her work as a journalist, or maybe these are more personal problems. The life that V&V built is based on deception. Their image, their life, is all one big lie. For Pam, knowing this is second reason why she takes such risks by opposing them. The first, of course, is the safety of her best friend, who was unknowingly dragged into this swamp.

Tbh, she would have liked the real Veneer personality (in the sense that she was crazy about him in canon, right?). They could have been friends if it hadn't been for the circumstances. And so... Who knows where all this will lead them. Clearly not in a bright future :)

As for Ritz, I also don't have particularly clear thoughts. Everyone can make him who they want 😄

Personally, as if by default, I consider him a news anchor, who he is in the canon. He periodically takes slightly provocative interviews with the stars, covers the musical novelties of this week/month/year, and all that.

Perhaps at some point in time he can get closer to the twins, just for the sake of sniffing out some interesting news. Actually, it seems to me that he knows a lot of interesting things about a lot of people, not just about twins. It's just that sometimes the mask of a relaxed dude just doing his job plays a good role for him))

I know everyone else has pretty much said their farewells to the fandom, and I haven't been active at all really in the last four months, but I wanted to say thanks to all of you as well.

Finding Ballum is something that got me through the first couple years of the pandemic, something that got me writing after a decade-long dry spell, and the lovely people in the fandom helped me push past some of my social anxieties and actually make some friends here which I didn't think was possible for me. It all means a great deal to me because the last 4 years have been rough in so many ways and I don't think I would've managed it as well if I didn't have this show and all of you folks to enjoy it with.

So I want to express my love and many thanks to everyone who I've befriended through Eastenders, all the writers and artists who have made watching the show more fun with their talent and skill, and anyone who has read my writing over the last few years. It's been a wild ride but I'm so glad to have been here for it with all of you 💜

Oh my God, this is so sweet!!!! I remember being SUPER active in the HQ community, and reading and commenting on fics was like, a daily activity... I also remember how incredible it felt to lift up other writers and be lifted up in return!! I always loved my little corner of tumblr and ao3 where I could so easily talk to people and make friends over shared excitement (very often just by checking out works by people who had left comments on mine!) - and I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only one who remembers that fondly :D I'm SO glad my words were able to inspire you - my main fuel for inspiration was always kind words from others :)

so back in 2020 i wrote the first two chapters of an mdzs princess bride au. i came across it randomly and thought it actually wasn't too bad, so i figured i might as well post it

i likely won't continue it since i'm not in the habit of writing (i've actually never written or posted a fic besides this one), but i thought it might bring some people some entertainment. also want to note that this is unedited/beta read, just posting everything as it was written back in 2020 :3

Chapter 1: Sick Day

“A-Ling, your uncle’s here,” said Jin Zixuan, entering the room.

Jin Ling looked up from his bed, where he was playing mobile games, “Didn’t you tell him I’m sick?” he scowled.

“He’s here because you’re sick. I need someone to watch you while I’m at work.”

“I’m 16, I don’t need a babysitter.” Jin Ling’s scowl was starting to become permanent.

“Sure,” Jin Zixuan conceded, “But you don’t even have the energy to get out of bed for a glass of water, you’ll need someone to do these things for you.”

“Don’t act like I’m some kind of servant, peacock,” started Jiang Cheng as he entered with an expression that put his nephew’s to shame, “I agreed to keep him company for the day because you never let me see my nephew often enough, that’s all.”

“You visit every week…” Jin Ling muttered as Fairy hopped onto the bed, wagging her tail.

Jin Zixuan rolled his eyes, “I’m off to work, I’ll pick up some soup for dinner on my way back.”

Jiang Cheng tried not to think about how Jin Ling wouldn’t have to wait for Jin Zixuan to pick up soup on his way back from work if A-Li were still here, cleared his throat, and pulled Jin Ling’s desk chair to the side of the bed.

Jin Ling, who had already gone back to his game, gave Jiang Cheng a side glace, before once again staring intently at the screen, “Ah, uncle, you don’t have to stay in here you know... I’m sure the living room is more comfortable anyway. I can just call you if I really need something…”

Jiang Cheng decided to ignore the fact that the expensive gaming chair he was sitting in was infinitely more comfortable than the sleek sofas in the living room, which were undoubtedly built more for style than comfort. “Don’t be ridiculous, didn’t I already say I didn’t come here to be your servant? Besides, I brought you something.”

Jin Ling perked up. It wasn’t hard to see he was imagining a new headset, or a new set of athletic clothes for sword practice, or sweets, or even a new friend for Fairy, which were the type of things his uncle usually bought him. He certainly wasn’t expecting…

“A book?” Jin Ling’s face twisted into something dubious.

Jiang Cheng’s scowl deepened. “Don’t be ungrateful.” His scowl softened to a frown, “Your mother used to read this to me when I was sick. Since she’s not here to read it to you-” His fingers clenched around the spine.

Perhaps it’s not surprising that Jin Ling struggles to find words for a moment. “...Well, if mom liked it, it can’t be too bad. What’s it about? Does it have sword fights?” It looked from the cover to be a xianxia novel, so he was hopeful.

Jiang Cheng scoffed, “Of course. Sword fights, demonic cultivation, torture, revenge, fierce corpses, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles…”

Even though Jin Ling made another face at the mention of true love and miracles, he finally set his phone to the side. “Alright, but don’t blame me if I fall asleep, I’m sick remember?”

“If you fall asleep I’ll break your legs,” threatened Jiang Cheng as he turned to the first page. “‘The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation’. Chapter 1. Wei Wuxian grew up farming lotus roots in Yunmeng…”
